Nike Gripknit is a grippy material that provides a better feel for the ball. The shoe offers more surface area so you can better control the ball when dribbling at high speed or crowning a play with a goal shot. It adapts to the shape of your foot and offers the same grip in wet and dry conditions. The fit is similar to that of a track and field shoe. The micro-molding structure with Gripknit hugs your foot for even better ball contact.
The wave-like traction pattern consists of a series of cascading studs that increase the surface area of the Air Zoom unit while providing reliable grip. The largest stud is the same height as our tried and tested medium studs, so traction isn't compromised. We've combined the wave-like traction pattern with redesigned Chevron and Blade studs to facilitate quick changes of direction.
The full-length Flyknit upper is designed for high speed, with Atomknit, an incredibly light and strong Flyknit variant, on the sides reducing weight and providing support. Gripknit, Atomknit and Flyknit combine to create the Mercurial's thinnest upper yet, bringing you closer to the ball and also reducing the time you need to break in the boot.
